Fostering Connections St. Johns will be hosting cooking, meal planning, and cooking on a budget classes for Extended Foster Care youth ages 18-23 in the Spring. Many young adults who have aged out of foster care have not learned about cooking or meal planning. These are much needed skills for independent living. @epiccure_fl will be providing food for the classes. Students will learn to cook a variety of basic foods, meal planning, and budgeting. We are seeking partnerships with local chefs with a variety of culinary styles to teach students about different styles of cooking and baking. If you are interested in partnering with us, please message us. Thank you for your support!#fosteringconnectionsstjohns #extendedfostercare #independentliving #connectingthecommunity ... 💥 Stop Scrolling!!! 💥Please take two seconds to leave this girl some special words of encouragement today!! I usually do Sneak Peeks for new sessions, but this little girl's session was booked for a very important reason and with her parent's permission I want to share it with you all today:Jazzy is an amazing little girl; I've known her for years and she has always been a socialite ready for a huge hug and quick to give out compliments. Last week her mom called me to tell me that something had changed over the past few months, Jazzy had lost her light. As parents we are so wrapped up on how to deal with working while at home with our children that we may not have noticed exactly how much staying safe at home has impacted our children's souls. For Jazzy being at home and away from all her social outlets quickly turned from the blues to full blown anxiety and depression. Luckily, her parents recognized what was going on and got her the help she needed, but talking to her mom on the phone last week reminded me that while I'm complaining on the phone to my friends just how much I miss them, my kids are all dealing with the same feelings of sadness and isolation. This session was booked specifically to celebrate childhood and Jazzy just as she is: a fun-loving, light-spirited, dress-up queen ready to find adventure and new friends. I love that this session was dedicated to Mental Health and for the sole purpose to celebrate a child struggling with some very adult problems. So I'm asking you to take 30 seconds out of your busy Friday and leave her a message of love, support, and encouragement. We need to support each other during these crazy times, but we need to support our children even more. Please feel free to share with friends who you feel would benefit from hearing Jazzy's story or would like to leave some kind words for her ❤️There won't be any need to try and win a free print for Jazzy, her print will be a special gift from me to hang in her bedroom as a daily reminder of how amazing she truly is 👑 ...
